“Update on Diagnostics, Treatment and Rehabilitation Strategies for Lyme Disease and Co-Infections”

Presenter: Dr. Nevena Zubcevik

Dr Zubcevik is the clinical co-director of the Dean Center for Lyme and Tick-Borne Illness at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.  She is an attending physician at the Dean Center and also at Massachusetts General Hospital, and she is an instructor at Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

Dr Zubcevik will discuss the current strategies used at the Dean Center for Lyme and Tick-Borne Illness for diagnosing Lyme and the co-infections using a symptom checklist and, if useful, certain blood tests.  She will discuss their methods for treating these bacterial and parasitic co-infections, and she will also cover the Dean Center’s approaches to rehabilitating the advanced neurological impacts of chronic infections.
